A monumental three-headed bronze elephant stands astride the Erawan Museum, making it visible for miles around. Inside is a large collection of ancient religious objects, including a number of priceless Buddha statues.
The exterior of the building’s lower story is decorated with tiny pink enamel tiles in the style of Thai Benjaron ceramics. An elaborate double staircase, which takes you up inside the body of the elephant, dominates the upper levels. There is also an elevator that travels up one of the hind legs. Outside, the tranquil gardens contain ponds and fountains in a variety of styles.
